Association in charge of the Solidarity March from Güell to Lluc a Peu with more than 51 years of history.

Our history

In 1974 a group of friends decided to set out on a march.

On 17th July 1974, a group of friends decided to set out on a march from the now defunct Bar Güell to the Lluc Monastery to thank the Virgin venerated there – who is the patron saint of Mallorca – for the fact that a girl had escaped unharmed in an accident.

One day later, on 18 July 1974, the first march from Güell to Lluc on foot began, in which around thirty people took part.

The most popular march in Mallorca.

In the following five years it was repeated with hardly any increase in the number of walkers, but in 1980, thanks to the fact that the Balearic savings bank Sa Nostra sponsored the event and publicised it massively in the media, the number of participants increased considerably, progressively increasing each year until there are now thousands of people who walk it today.

On 6 August 1993, kilometre zero was inaugurated in front of the old Bar Güell. The ceremony was attended by the King and Queen of Spain, who gave the starting signal. Since then, it has become the most popular marxa in Mallorca.
